John was raised just outside of Seattle, Washington, and has always been passionate about helping other folks see the value in getting outside. He grew up hiking around the PNW and graduated from Whitman College in 2018 with a degree in History. Since college John has been bouncing between leading international and domestic programs for ARCC, working as a management consultant in the tech industry, and keeping a busy schedule backpacking when he can. He also started a small business in the pandemic that helps thrift stores bring their inventory online and educates folks on the benefits of shopping second-hand. In his free time, John can be found curled up with a book or writing postcards to friends.
