Alden hails from Bethesda, MD, but has spent his past seven years in Philadelphia where he was an educator, which included serving as a teacher within the Bhutanese refugee community, and opened a restaurant focused around social and food justice. Alden’s international experiences took off during a semester study abroad in Darjeeling, India, which included an intensive Nepali language course. A Fulbright Scholarship award after college brought him back to Nepal for a research-based year, which opened his eyes to the power of international experiential education. Proficient in Nepali and Spanish, Alden has led two Gap Semesters for ARCC. In his free time, Alden enjoys gardening, cooking, and making music.
