Laura came to ARCC eager to expand on her love of exploring new places and forming meaningful relationships with young people. Being homeschooled with her two older brothers during elementary and middle school, Laura was introduced to international travel and outdoor adventure at an early age. Whether learning lessons in places like Angkor Wat and heading out on many a family camping trip, the impact of her childhood travel and time in the backcountry, in addition to her experience competing in cross-country running and skiing through college, led to her belief in the life-changing power of community-based wilderness adventure and experiential learning. She brings this conviction and her enthusiasm to empower others to each of her trips, whether that be in her work with ARCC or as a wilderness canoe guide.
