Let us help you and your students get certified in Wilderness First Aid (18 hours) or as a Wilderness First Responder (80 hours). We bring in professional wilderness medicine instructors to teach these hands-on, interactive classes. These courses are perfect for students looking to pursue a possible interest in the medical field or simply those who want fundamental medical skills to enhance their personal safety. Combine this element with an outdoor leadership component to make for the perfect comprehensive adventure.

Language Immersion
Our language engagement programs take advantage of native speakers teaching our courses in local language schools. We accommodate all levels of language skill, from beginner to near fluent, and group students with similar skills together. After class, step out the door for the real-world practice of your newly acquired skills. Depending on the length of your program, we typically combine our language programs with unique cultural immersion experiences. We can also add a service learning component to your itinerary if that is desired.
Service Learning
ARCC searches the globe for meaningful and sustainable service learning projects. These are projects requested by local community leaders. You might choose to focus on animals, people, or environment-oriented projects. We consider all projects through the lens of “are we doing good? Is this what the community has requested?” and hold ourselves accountable to this high standard. When we are not working directly with the local community, we are immersing ourselves in local culture and exploring unique destinations.
Outdoor Leadership
ARCC has been offering wilderness leadership programs since 1983. No experience is necessary as we build your outdoor skills by exploring pristine wilderness. Throughout your adventure, ARCC’s Leadership Curriculum will be woven into each component which allows students to examine the attributes of effective leaders and gain an understanding of their own individual leadership styles. Whether it’s backpacking through Southern Europe, climbing in the American Southwest, or exploring the stunning coastal trails of Washington State, we can help plan the perfect outdoor leadership adventure for you.
Cultural Immersion
Step off the beaten track and immerse yourself in local communities having authentic and meaningful interactions. Build connections and examine both local and global issues impacting these communities and populations. As these are custom made itineraries, we can include as many stops as you wish at typical traveler destinations or spend all your time off the ‘tourist track’ giving your students experiences not available to most outsiders.
Global Issues
Are you studying a specific topic in the classroom? We can help you bring your material to life. Whether it’s Cold War history, gender roles and inequality, or religious studies we can help plan a memorable trip that will allow your students to examine important topics in a real-life setting and leave your students wanting to learn more. With dozens of destinations available around the globe, let us help you blend your classroom lectures with real-world experiences and observations.
