About Us

The ARCC Name

Originally known as Adventures Rolling Cross-Country (affectionately referred to as “ARCC”), ARCC Programs was originally founded in 1983 as a small company that specialized in back-country trips across the United States. Once we grew to include international travel, the “Rolling” part of our name no longer applied, but we kept the A-R-C-C acronym. Since 1983, our programs have evolved and we now travel to 22 different countries around the world, all while maintaining the founding themes that have made our programs so successful.

Our History

ARCC has been facilitating authentic, culturally immersive travel programs with hands-on service learning projects for over 40-years! We are committed to providing unique and life-changing experiences that resonate deep within our participants. We have spent decades building close relationships with organizations and communities around the world to ensure our participants engage in truly intimate, authentic encounters with the people, the cultures, and the lands they visit.

Our Mission & Vision

ARCC’s mission is to cultivate the next generation of informed, empathetic, and action-oriented global citizens through experiential learning, intentional community partnerships, and responsible travel. We envision a world where cross-cultural engagement through accessible and ethical travel leads to a more just, connected, and sustainable world.

Our Values

Ethical Travel & Environmental Justice

ARCC Programs prioritizes responsible travel and sustainable practices that aim to protect all people and the environment.

Lifelong Learning

We encourage individuals, participants as well as ARCC staff and partners alike, to embrace new knowledge, grow personal skills, explore independence, and foster a sense of curiosity in themselves.

Fun

Create enjoyable, engaging experiences that spark joy, foster connection, and bring excitement to everyday moments. We believe in the power of play. In our programs and our office.

Social Justice

We acknowledge there are inherent privileges and biases within international travel. We are committed to supporting equitable opportunities for travel as well as student growth and learning. We hope to decrease barriers for underrepresented identities through strategic planning and action intended to increase inclusion and access.

Collaboration

We partner with local individuals, communities, and organizations to create opportunities where participants from different backgrounds combine their strengths to achieve goals with a shared purpose. We strive to build partnerships that are mutually beneficial, and we intentionally keep our groups small to encourage teamwork and promote connections.

Intentionality

We develop our programs to provide meaningful educational experiences by deliberately investing in partnerships and destinations that provide learning opportunities, foster growth, and promote a deeper understanding of the culture and environment.
