Students will have the opportunity to join forces with local leaders in female empowerment, public health, conservation of endangered species, and local farmers in sustainable agricultural practices. Students will also have the opportunity to engage in the ancient cultural and spiritual practices of these beautiful regions. After living in and exploring two of the world’s most fascinating countries, we leave our semester with broader perspectives and a new fascination for this part of the world.

Learn from and work alongside biologists in their conservation efforts for the Indian Sloth Bear and Indian Elephant at the largest bear conservatory in the world . Discuss with researchers about the snow leopard conservation effort in Ladakh while learning about the human-wildlife conflict that has contributed to the decline of the snow leopard population. Learn about how Biointensive Farming methods are being used in Dhulikhel to promote food security.
