Tim’s passion for diverse cultures and his love of traveling started at a young age growing up between England and Singapore. After his family relocated to Minnesota, Tim attended Cornell University where he studied Civil and Environmental Engineering and was a four-year member of the Varsity Swim & Dive Team. Post college, Tim joined a tech startup in Silicon Valley, before realizing his passions lay in facilitating hands-on educational experiences for youth. Prior to working for ARCC, Tim guided teens on backcountry canoeing expeditions in Ontario, facilitated outdoor education programs in the jungles around Hong Kong, and ran dog-sledding trips in the frozen wilderness of Northern Minnesota. The opportunity to connect with students on a personal level, to create a supportive community, and to provide guidance and support for his students over the course of a program is what keeps bringing Tim back to ARCC. Some fun facts about Tim are that hosted a radio show and podcast during college, he played Benjamin Franklin in an 80’s cop show remake about the Founding Father’s, and his favorite movie is Surfs Up, an animated movie about penguins that surf.
