Jordan’s love of international experiential education was fostered during study abroad programs in college, which kicked off in Ireland where she focused on agricultural systems, was followed by an internship in South Africa in wildlife management, and concluded with a semester in New Zealand. These experiences “allowed me to open my mind and heart to different cultures, people, and experiences that have all played a major role in making me who I am today.” Post-college, Jordan served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay where she spent 27 months serving as an environmental conservation volunteer and worked with local schools and a non-profit organization teaching youth the importance of environmental conservation and awareness. Jordan found ARCC shortly after returning from Paraguay and led two programs in Costa Rica in summer 2019. In reflecting on the powerful mentors in her life, Jordan loves leading for ARCC because she aims to help her students navigate and understand the new, exciting, and sometimes nerve-wracking experiences that come with traveling abroad.
